in stead of (only) hohning a cylinder, would it also be ok if one poliched/ scrubbed a piston an then hohn the cylinder accordingly?

what i mean is:

making a piston wich is nit so good like new by polishing it, get some other cylinders and hohn them to fit the piston

If you hohn (!?) a cylinder its volume gets bigger; but if you polish a piston it will get smaller. Okay, normally only some mm^-1/2 but there's no sense.

Take some cylinders to hohn (what's this in english correctly?) and after that let you build some new pistons fitting 100% to the cylinders.

hi ide,

i understand all that BUT...

the pistens i have are overbore, the cynders i'm talking about are original...

so you see what i want ?

ps:
guess hohning is just boring out or something

So if the pistons are good just bore up (hohn) the cylinders until the pistons match with the cylinders.

I do not really understand what you want to tell us

If the(oversize) pistons are scratched, you can carerfully polish the surface.Get the barrels rebored according to the correct clearence between piston and barrel.Get new piston rings and it will be ok.
But be shure not to use a piston more than about 40.000 km,the risk of damage will be very high.

hush, hush ide, easy does it

the pistons have litle "reifen" so that's why i thought of getting them polished, the question is, could that be done safely?

and then, to get the cylinders the right messure i have to get them bored...

maybe i'm just asking a to simple a question?
